What's Happening at Woodridge!

JULY 4th ACTIVITIES
We will be having our annual Woodridge Fourth of July campout under the stars on Sunday, July 3rd; all members and guests are welcome to the event with the proper adult supervision.  Please sign up on the signup sheet located on the bulletin board if you plan to camp out.  Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult member who stays overnight.  Families may begin to set up their tents on the lower field on July 3rd after 5:00 pm.  The pool will be open for swimming until 10:00 pm.  There will be a bonfire with s’mores and then lights out.
Bring a friend after 5:00 pm for swimming, a movie--Zootopia—shown on a huge screen at the pavilion, and other activities and to campout with you for only $3 per guest (adults and children). Let them see why you enjoy spending your summer at Woodridge!
Wake up Monday morning at 7:30am to a pancake breakfast.  Even if you do not campout, come for the FREE movie Sunday night, and/or the breakfast! The cost for breakfast will be $4 for adult, $3 for kids, $12 for a family of 4 or more.
The pool will open on July 4th at 10:00 am and remain open until 9:00 pm.  Remember that on July 4th the three free guest passes provided with your membership renewal cannot be used.  Any other previously purchased guest pass (seven day cards or 5 visit cards) can be used on July 4th.
BACK AGAIN THIS SUMMER!!!! – BOOKS ON DECK
The first meeting of Books on Deck this summer will be Monday, June 27 at 6:00 pm! Hope you can join us to talk about Me Before You by JoJo Moyes.  See the bulletin board for more details and to find out about future books and meeting times.
ADULT NIGHT IS BACK!!!!!
After a multi-year absence, adult night is back, and better than ever!  Find someone to take care of the kids, leave them at home, empty the pool bag of kids’ stuff and come enjoy “Luau under the Lights,” a night with other adult members—and guests—of the pool, Saturday July 16th starting at 6:30 pm.
Pulled pork will be provided; we ask everyone who comes to bring your favorite side dish or dessert. Your ticket ($15/person) will also give you a free entry into the raffle drawings for donated items.
The night will also include a 'Corn-Hole' tournament, so find some friends and form a team; entrance fee for the tournament is $10 per team. Champion will have bragging rights for the next 365 days as the winner and for all time as the 'First' champion.
Tickets are available from a Board member, at the pool office, or contact Jeff McSparran at jeffmcsparran@gmail.com. Tickets must be purchased no later than Monday, July 11th so that the pork can be ordered.

WI-FI AT WOODRIDGE SWIM CLUB
Woodridge Swim Club has Wi-Fi again this summer. While there had been some issues early in the season, we hope to have taken care of them.  On your device, look for the signal called ‘Woodridge Wi-Fi’, connect to it and enter the password, which is available at the pool office.  As long as Windstream can provide us with a good internet connection, we should have Wi-Fi.  The signal is strong throughout the area that you would normally sit, and the pavilion.  Please use the system responsibly and respect others who might be using it at the same time; there is limited band-with from Windstream.

WOODRIDGE NEEDS YOUR HELP
Woodridge Swim Club is owned and operated by its members, we are not owned by any single individual, government agency, or corporation.  Because of that we need your help to continue to have the premiere facilities and wide range of activities.  Understanding that not everyone has the same abilities but each individual has some ability to help, there is some place that your abilities can be utilized.  The broad categories that the pool is always looking for volunteers is to serve on the Board of Governors, assist with fixing things in the clubhouse and around the pool, maintain the grounds, and assist with the implementation of the different activities (Kids Klub, Sundaes on Sunday, July 4th cookout, Adult Night, Fundraisers).
Take time to determine which of these you can assist with then when you are either entering or exiting the pool leave your name and the best way for the pool to contact you with the office staff, also let them know which category you are willing to assist with.
If we do not get additional help from our membership we will either have to stop offering as many activities or raise annual fees to hire help maintaining the facilities, so please help where you can.
